Being born and raised in Italy, where my parents brought me up in a completely western environment.

Growing up, they were always concerned about whether I would truly learn and embrace my Bangladeshi heritage.

Fortunately, I’ve grown up fluent in Bangla, not only speaking it but also singing in it with pride.

I have a deep love for my culture—whether it’s the traditional clothes, the delicious food, the music or the vibrant community that makes it so special.

When I moved to the UK at the age of nine, I was overjoyed to see how multicultural and diverse the society here is.

As a British-Italian Bangladeshi, I felt a strong desire to build a sense of unity among all the Bangladeshi kids who, like me, were raised abroad and navigating their identities between different worlds.

This passion led me to start my own Bengali society when I went to university, where I aimed to create a space where young Bangladeshis could come together, celebrate our culture, and support one another.

Today, I am thrilled to be working as the Cultural Affairs Director of the Bangladeshi Student Association, where I hope to continue to foster connections, promote cultural awareness, and celebrate the beautiful blend of identities that so many of us share.
